Ryan Murray was born in Pittsburgh, PA. He creates videos, performances, sculptures, music, and paintings that deal with the connection and disconnection between scientific rationality and mysticism. Murray explores these two discourses at aesthetic and conceptual intersection points such as alchemy, eschatology, psychedelia, and popular culture. He has exhibited art work across the United States, in gallery exhibitions, in video screenings, at public performances, and in books. Murray has served as Visiting Professor and, subsequently, Assistant Professor in Towson University's Electronic Media and Film Department since 2009.
