Ryan Murray was born in Pittsburgh, PA. He creates paintings, performances, videos, and sculptures that deal with the connection and disconnection between science and mysticism. Murray explores these two discourses at intersection points such as psychedelia, divination, alchemy, cryptozoology, theoretical physics, philosophy of mind, the search for extraterrestrials, and popular culture. He received his BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and his MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Murray currently lives in Baltimore, MD and serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Electronic Media and Film at Towson University. | |||||
